Where are you from or where do you live around here?
I am from Timberville, Va. I grew up on a farm and then ended up buying my grandmas house, where we live at now that is part of the farm as well.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m the proud wife of the newest Rocktown member Chuck Deviers. I’m a mommy to Rylee (5) and Abigail (2), two very sassy girls. I’m a nurse practitioner, I work full time at Med express here in Harrisonburg. I completed grad school while being a member at Rocktown with Tracy Seefried. My family and I love spending time outdoors, on our farm and camping.
What got you started at Rocktown CrossFit?
Like many others here, Jasmine Smith convinced me to go to bring a friend day. I was dropping Rylee off at child watch and Jasmine pretty much forced me in her car! Kim Ohgren had been my work out partner at Gold’s doing body pump (we were so cool), but she had tossed around the idea of joining. When I went to the work out with Jasmine it had dead lifts which is my love and burpees- which I hate but I felt so strong and loved the challenge and the entire gym cheering for each other!
When or what was your "CrossFit Moment" - the moment that you really felt pushed or felt like you really accomplished something?
The Open workout with Wall Walks and Double Unders. I actually strung some Double Unders together and it was such a great feeling! Lauren was my judge and I remember her screaming at me! Doing the open for the first time was such a high!
What are your goals for CrossFit? Why do you do CrossFit?
To get strong AF. I love trying to constantly better myself, push myself further. Completing 75 hard really made me wake up and realize how much further out of my comfort zones I can push. I want to be a strong role model for my daughters. Thanks to the ladies here we did the 50 miles in December and it truly has made me enjoy running SO much more!
What do you think is special about Rocktown CrossFit?
Rocktown is truly a family. We all experience milestones, life events here. I worked out the day before I was induced with Abigail, I consistently showed up through grad school, the Rock had supported me through a miscarriage, a career change, all kinds of stuff! To show up and have someone in your corner day in and day out, from the coaches to the people sweating beside you is a feeling like no other.
What are your favorite movements to do in a workout?
Heavy cleans, power or squat, heavvyyy deadlifts and now I’m fond of running! I never in my life thought I would say that!
What are your least favorite? Why?
Hmmm… synchro burpees I love long partner workouts but hate if it’s synchronized, no break!

I truly am thankful for the Rocktown family of constantly supporting me. Nate and Lauren have truly built an awesome establishment and fun place to work out. All the coaches are so friendly and supportive. If I go in grumpy I come out happy which is a great thing
I remember seeing Jenny at Valley Fitness doing things in the group fitness room (with Kim) and thinking "MAN! She would love it at Rocktown!"
A few months later, I got the message that they were ready to give it a try. She's been a consistent fixture at the Rock since and I'm so thankful she made that inquiry to us.
Over the past 4 years, Jenny has had A LOT going on: finishing her nurse practitioner program, working full-time, being a mom. But no matter what she had going on, she has always made her workouts a priority....even if it means working out in her garage with Chuck at 9pm. Her routine over the past few years has been a complete slap in the face to the excuse "I don't have enough time." Because we all have time, it's just how we choose to use it. Thank you for setting the example Jenny.
In class, Jenny is always known for yelling "GOOD JOB!" or "NICE WORK!" across the room to her fellow athletes mid workout. She is everyone's biggest hype man both in AND out of the gym. Jenny, keep shining!
